To Whom It May Concern,
The brothers of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, will be hosting a new philanthropy benefiting the John Wayne Cancer Foundation. Alpha Gamma Rho is a socio-professional fraternity whose roots are based in the culture and industry that is agriculture. “To make better men . . .” the beginning of our purpose explicitly illustrates our cause; and by hosting this philanthropy, we hope to better ourselves by helping those who need it most. Our goal is to bring together both the San Luis Obispo and Cal Poly Greek communities to show their combined support in the battle against cancer.
In homage to the immortal cowboy, we will be hosting a mechanical bull riding competition. Teams made up of girls representing local sororities will compete to see who really is made of true grit. Teams will be judged on not only their time scored, but also spirit and enthusiasm. Representatives from local fraternities will stand as judges, and an experienced rodeo announcer will make sure to keep the audience’s blood pumping. Both first and second place teams will each win a custom belt buckle, but only first place will take home a plaque denoting them as champion bull rider, bragging rights included. We invite you to attend this event at 3:00PM on May 3rd at The Graduate in San Luis Obispo.
With a donation of $50.00 or more, your company’s logo will be placed on flyers and other forms of advertisement. A donation of $250 or more will place your company’s logo on the event’s promotional t-shirts. All donors will be recognized at the event. We appreciate your support and look forward to hearing from you soon.
